Us anunciem la celebració del XIV Simposi de Neurobiologia: «Noves perspectives en la investigació del cervell», organitzat per la Secció de Neurobiologia de la Societat Catalana de Biologia. Aquest simposi biennal aplega investigadors en neurociències de Catalunya, les Illes Balears i el País Valencià. Enguany se celebrarà els dies 3 i 4 de juny de 2026, a la seu de l’Institut d’Estudis Catalans (C/ del Carme, 47), a Barcelona.

COMUNICACIONS
El simposi s’estructura en sessions de presentacions orals i de pòsters. En el full de comunicacions podeu indicar la vostra preferència. Es donarà preferència a les comunicacions orals presentades per investigadors postdoctorals joves i estudiants de doctorat de 3r i 4at any.
RESUMS DE LES COMUNICACIONS
La data límit per a rebre els resums de les comunicacions és el 15 d’abril de 2026. Els resums enviats després d’aquesta data no es podran incloure al llibre del simposi.
A l’hora de preparar el resum de la comunicació, seguiu, si us plau, totes les indicacions que figuren en el formulari dels resums, especialment pel que fa al format del nom dels autors. El text principal, amb un màxim de 300 paraules (sense figures), ha de ser, preferiblement, en anglès.

L’idioma de la presentació ha de coincidir amb l’idioma del títol de la comunicació, preferiblement l’anglès.
GUANYADOR DEL 7è PREMI RAMON TURRÓ
Joan X. Comella Carnicé, de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) i l’Institut de Recerca de Sant Joan de Déu (IRSJD)
Joan X. Comella va obtenir el seu doctorat en Medicina a la Universitat de Barcelona l’any 1990. Va realitzar una estada postdoctoral a l’Institut de Biologia Cel·lular i Molecular del Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), a Gif-sur-Yvette (França), i va ser nomenat professor associat a la Facultat de Medicina de la Universitat de Lleida (UdL) el 1990, i catedràtic el 2002. Des de l’abril de 2007 és catedràtic a la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, on va ser director de l’Institut de Neurociències entre 2008 i 2009. Posteriorment, va ser director del Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR) (2009-2022) i, des del 2022, és director de Recerca, Innovació i Aprenentatge a l’Institut de Recerca de l’Hospital Sant Joan de Déu.

The Neurobiology Symposium is a biennial scientific event organized by the Neurobiology section of the Societat Catalana de Biologia (SCB), an institution funded in 1912 with the main objective of disseminating biological science in Catalunya. Since the first Edition in 1996 (30 years ago), the Neurobiology Symposium has been a reference for researchers, professors and doctoral and postdoctoral students in the field of Neurobiology and Neurosciences in Catalunya, Valencia and IIles Balears. The main objective of the Symposium is to present recent scientific advances in the field of Neurosciences of the research groups of our community in order to be a scientific forum for participation of local, national and international, researchers. The active participation of young researchers at early/middle stages of their professional career, including talks and posters, is our priority. On this occasion the symposium will be held in June 2026 at the headquarters of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (C/Carme 47, Barcelona), historical building of the first Hospital of the city of Barcelona.
This year’s symposium aims to be a space to think beyond traditional boundaries and imagine new ways to explore the human brain. At a time when science is advancing at a dizzying pace, we propose a meeting that fosters the connection between disciplines in order to generate innovative ideas and integrative approaches to better understand the brain. Beyond the boundaries of each field, we seek to build a shared vision on the future of neuroscience research.
The scientific program and oral communications are in English. The scientific program is organized in 4 plenary lectures (1 hour each) with invited senior international and national researchers, and in 8 parallel sessions (2 simultaneous sessions in the morning and 2 in the afternoon) of short talks starting with an invited tenure-track researcher (30 min each) followed by 5 short talks (15min each) by junior postdoctoral and/or predoctoral researchers. Poster presentations are held on both days during morning/afternoon coffee and lunch breaks.
WINNER OF THE 7th RAMON TURRÓ AWARD
Joan X. Comella Carnicé, de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) i l’Institut de Recerca de Sant Joan de Déu (IRSJD)
Joan X Comella received his PhD in Medicine at the University of Barcelona in 1990. He did a postdoctoral training at the Cellular and Molecular Biology Institute of the CNRS in Gif sur Yvette (France), and was appointed as Associate Professor at Faculty of Medicine (University of Lleida – UdL) in 1990, and Full Professor in 2002. Since April 2007 he is Full Professor at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where he became Director of the Neurosciences Institute from 2008 to 2009. Later, he became Director of Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) (2009-2022) and from 2022, he is the Director of Research, Innovation & Learning at Institute of Research of Sant Joan de Déu Hospital.
