COVID-19 VIII Jornada de Bioinformàtica i Genòmica
COVID-19 VIII Bioinformatics and Genomics Symposium
Data: 14 de desembre de 2020, de 16h a 19h
Lloc: Virtual, plataforma Zoom
Organitza: Secció de Bioinformàtica i Genòmica de la SCB
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the VIII Bioinformatics and Genomics Symposium, originally scheduled for December 14th 2020 and organized by Tanya Vavouri (Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute) and Lorenzo Pasquali (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) will be postponed and will take place on December 16th 2021 (please, save the date on your calendars!).
Instead, this year we are organizing on the afternoon of the same day an online mini-symposium focused on bioinformatics and genomics of COVID-19, where different groups around the country could present all the research being carried out in these areas, such as for example analysis of viral genomes, physiological responses to infection and search for new treatments, genetic susceptibility to infection and disease severity or functional analysis. The mini-symposium will be organized in a series of short talks (15-20 min) from PhD students, postdocs or senior researchers and those interested in presenting their research should register at the meeting webpage or contact the organizers for more information. In order to prepare the final program, please send the title of the talk as soon as possible and no later than Wednesday, November 25th. Talks should be in English and will be selected based on scientific interest and a balanced distribution among groups and research areas.
